What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, or work more efficiently, as well as to provide information to the owners of the site. On AnnexLiving we group cookies into three categories — essential, analytics and marketing — and we only set the latter two with your consent.
Essential cookies
These are required for the site to function and cannot be switched off. They include the cookie that remembers whether you have accepted or rejected non-essential cookies (annex_consent) and any short-lived cookies used to keep an enquiry form working while you fill it in.
Analytics cookies
If (and only if) you click Accept on the cookie banner, we may load privacy-respecting analytics tools to understand how the site is used — for example which pages are most popular and where users experience errors. Where these tools are configured we set them to anonymise IP addresses.
Examples of analytics tools we may use: Google Analytics 4, Microsoft Clarity, Hotjar. These will only run after you accept.
Marketing cookies
With your consent we may also load advertising / pixel cookies (for example Meta Pixel or TikTok Pixel) so that we can measure the effectiveness of any advertising we run and show relevant content to people who have visited the site. These will only run after you accept.
How to change your choice
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time:
- Use the Cookie Settings link in the footer of any page on this site — this will clear your saved choice and the cookie banner will reappear.
- Or clear cookies / site data for
annexliving.co.ukin your browser settings. - Most browsers also let you block all cookies by default. Doing this may stop parts of the site working.
